Ground Duty Responsibilities
This is for the volunteers that are allocated to help with ground duty during their games
Report to the member of the committee that is on Ground Management duty. They will be wearing a purple vest. If you have any questions, ask your ground manager.
Ground Duty Tasks
- Purple vest — must be worn at all times
- Scoreboard — update score and set timer
(your ground manager will show you how to do this) - Make sure there is always someone at the desk
- Ice — ensure there is always ice in the container
Paperwork
- Complete paperwork for send‑offs and injuries
- Team sheets:
- Distribute to team managers prior to the game
- Have managers and referee sign, then place back in the folder
Field & Crowd Management
- Walk the ropes, ensuring no public are within the field of play
- Field sizes change for different ages — be ready for this
- Behavior of both crowds needs to be monitored and acted on when inappropriate
- Don’t be afraid to use the microphone for crowd control

BBQ Duty Responsibilities

BBQ Guidelines
- Two people only at BBQ
- Ensure appropriate hygiene is observed — you’re working with food
- No bad language to be used given the vicinity to spectators
- Appropriate clothing must be worn (including shoes)
- If you’re quiet, prepare for the next rush
- Eggs, bacon, sausages and onions are available from the canteen
- Steaks are cooked to order (canteen staff will notify you)
- Gas bottles (new) are in the home dressing shed
- Last shift needs to please clean up the BBQ and surrounding area
